Yesterday, good trade with 2 MES (real IB account) with main strategy v2

 

It traded a similar section for me as the one you sent, but not exactly the same. I’ll check it when I get home and send you the screenshot. I’m using the V3 strategy and ES - Apex account. Interestingly, when I checked it with market replay afterward, it executed different trades than it did in live trading.

 

How many days have we have to wait people to send a simple payment ? Sorry new here It takes litteraly 20 seconds

 

Here are the two images. The one where I drew on shows the real trades—one loss and one win. The one showing the strategy is from the replay, and they are completely different. It's interesting. By the way, there's a trade copier available in the NinjaTrader User App indicators, but it doesn't work well with the strategy—it executes the trades but doesn't close them. Be careful with it!

 

Thanks to j.elrod for the post above - So we have apparently the same strategy that gives 3 different results on the same day/same session ! (at least 2 results if we exclude replay)... Not sure how much I would bet on this

 

I bet hard cash these "educated" versions are missing something critical, why the difference, the code in the software is not changing so....

Don't forget that Luci used the V2 strategy, while I’m using V3. The fine-tuning of the strategy can cause differences in results, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. The strategy could still be profitable. What bothers me, though, is why the replay and live trading results were so different. Based on this, fine-tuning a strategy with replay data may not be entirely reliable and requires extra caution.

Also, the data provider plays a role, depending on the quality of data you receive from your broker and how accurate it is (like Level 2 data).

 

My screenshot is from the main strategy with v2... it is logical that the results are not the same.

The data provider is very important from what I have checked.

I compared results from Bulenox and CQG and they are not the same.

With CQG all my results are identical, real account, sim and market replay on different VPS and PC (you can't use normal BT for Order Flow strategy)

You're absolutly right. It's definitely worth subscribing to CQG or using a broker that offers CQG data services.

@Luci, so the market replay only provides an approximate value, right? In other words, the data downloaded for market replay in NinjaTrader contains Globex data, not CQG data. That means it can only be properly tested in live trading, even if it's on a demo account, right? I’m wondering if there’s a way to load CQG data into market replay to make the testing more accurate.

 

As far as I know, if you subscribe to CQG, you could record the datafeed by yourself for market replay later. Or you could get recorded CQG data from someone else and use it for market replay.
